About Us
History
In 1923, Warren Harding was President of the United States, the average house sold for under $5,000, and Max Nickel and Thomas Cook began Electric Supply Company. The company serviced the Sioux Falls community by wiring homes and shops, rewinding motors for wells and pumps and extending pole line facilities for utility companies.
Electric Supply Company expanded its business through the Depression and World War II. The end of the war brought rapid commercial and industrial growth to the Sioux Falls area and expanded work for Electric Supply.
Today
Electric Supply Company has changed a great deal since then. Today, we have grown to one of the major electrical contracting companies in South Dakota with between 50 and 110 electricians on staff. In addition to our regular staff we have access to a national pool of thousands of quality trained electricians.
We select and train top-quality craftsmen for all types of electrical challenges, from simple wiring and repair, retrofitting existing structures, to large-scale installations requiring the high-tech expertise needed by the area's largest corporations.
Fiber optic networks and copper cable computer networks are among the new high-tech jobs we specialize in, with projects successfully completed for Sanford Hospital Wellness Center, the USD Science Center, Family Practice Physicians South and the Land O'Lakes Cheese Factory. We have also been involved in a number of government projects over the years such as the National Guard Armory, and other military and VA projects.
To keep pace with today's demanding business climate, we strive to remain on the cutting edge of electrical technology. We attribute our success to building strategic partnerships with our clients. By treating others the way we want to be treated, we ensure complete customer satisfaction.
